Thora Malu is a type of Sri Lankan fish curry. 'Malu' in Sinhalese means 'Fish' and 'Thora' means 'Mackerel'. Thora Malu curry is traditionally made with Mackerel, but other white fishes are commonly used too. For my recipe I used one of my favourite fish, hake. Thora Malu curry is fish cooked in spices and coconut milk.

Instructions. Trim the stems. Slit all the banana peppers/ capsicum into four using a small knife. Remove seeds if you don't like heat. Mix turmeric, curry powder, sugar, salt, mustard powder, vinegar, oil, and Maldive fish flakes with Banana peppers. All the banana peppers should coat with spices.

Extremely clean. The food was first class with a wide range of both local and western cuisine. Fantastic fresh sea food and local curries. The pool was clean and never over crowded and the beach with its emerald waters was just like paradise.

'pan' or 'paan' means 'bread' and 'banis' means 'buns'. So, 'malu paan' means 'fish bread' and 'malu banis' means 'fish buns'.
